A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agent cited a Mandeville man for an alleged littering violation in Orleans Parish on Oct. 11.

LDWF Agent Mason Castello cited Murat Tanil, 32, for gross littering.

Agent Castello was patrolling in Orleans Parish when he located a large litter pile consisting of couches, bed frames, and appliances.  After investigating the location, Agent Castello found items that linked the litter pile to Tanil.

Agents Castello made contact with Tanil and issued him the citation for gross littering.

Gross littering carries up to a $900 fine, up to 30 days in jail and 16 hours of community service in a litter abatement program.
