Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a Metairie man for alleged commercial guide violations in Plaquemines Parish on Feb. 22 and 23.

Agents cited Donelson C. Jackson Jr., 31, for his second and third offenses for not complying with charter boat guide regulations.

The U.S. Coast Guard in Venice stopped Jackson on Feb. 22 and found him chartering with no proof of liability insurance and not possessing a state guide license.

On Feb. 23, LDWF agents again found Jackson chartering in Venice.  When agents checked Jackson’s guide license it was from 2017 and was altered to make it appear like it was from 2019.

Agents discovered that Jackson had not purchased guide licenses since 2017 and has not provided adequate liability insurance coverage for his vessel.

Failing to comply with charter boat regulations carries up to a $950 fine and 120 days in jail for each offense.
