Muddy Bayou Road on Dewey W. Wills Wildlife Management Area (WMA) has been closed to vehicle traffic due to flooding, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced. In addition, Hunt Road, located south of the diversion canal, will be closed to traffic once the water level on Larto Lake reaches 45 feet mean sea level, which is expected by Friday (March 1).

ATV/UTV use is still permitted.

These closures are deemed necessary to ensure safety and prevent road damage. Once the water recedes, LDWF will inspect, repair and reopen those roads when it is determined they are safe for travel.
