The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has closed several roads to vehicle traffic at the Richard K. Yancey Wildlife Management Area (WMA) due to flooding, including Dobbs Bay Road, Blount Road, Lac-A-Sostien Road and Catfish Bayou Road.
While the WMA will remain open, users are asked to comply with road closures deemed necessary to ensure safety and prevent road damage. Once the water recedes, LDWF will inspect, repair and reopen those thoroughfares are considered safe for travel.
Richard K. Yancey WMA is located approximately 35 miles south of Ferriday on Louisiana Highway 5 in lower Concordia Parish.
