Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a Ville Platte Man for alleged deer hunting violations on Dec. 15 in St. Landry Parish.
Agents cited David P. Landry, 27, for taking over the daily bag limit of deer and intentional concealment of wildlife.
Agents were on patrol on the Thistlethwaite Wildlife Management Area when they made contact with Landry. Agents learned that Landry harvested two antlerless deer during the morning hunt with one of the deer being found concealed near his hunting location.
Agents seized both deer and donated them to a local charity.
Taking over the daily bag limit of deer carries a $250 to $500 fine and up to 90 days in jail. Intentional concealment of wildlife brings a $900 to $950 fine and up to 120 days in jail.
Landry may also face civil restitution totaling $3,249 for the replacement value of the illegally taken deer.
