LDWF Mother-Child FUN Camp to be Held Oct. 16-17 at Waddill Wildlife Refuge

Baton Rouge, Aug 27, 2026 - The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will hold its annual Mother-Child Families Understanding Nature (FUN) Camp Oct.16-17, 2026 at the Waddill Wildlife Refuge, 4142 North Flannery Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70814. The camp is open to mothers with children from 10-13 years old, and registration for the event is now open.

The camp offers mothers and children an opportunity to spend a weekend in the outdoors, re-establishing bonds and honing outdoor skills.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Meals, lodging and supplies, including tents, used during the weekend will be provided. Bed linens and sleeping bags are not provided. Cost is free, but all adult guardians attending the camp must purchase a WMA access permit before arrival.
